Gru is a villain but inside he has a good heart. His kindness is just hidden behind the pain of feeling unloved. This changes when he adoptes three abandonend girls who have a lot of energy and curiosity. His actual plan is to use the girls to trick his biggest enemy Hector who is always better in every evil act. But as time moves on, Gru learns to love his adopted children and realizes what really matters in life.

There was the action I missed in the first part. The scenes are not always logical but the created suspense can be felt throughout the whole film. Incredible beautiful shots and nice use of VFX.
