  Director Bong 🥺 genre master, allegory king 🥺 forgive me 🥺 I love you no matter what 😢😢

  Frequently laborious mess of a movie, stuffed with ideas tied together with frayed yarn. I don’t envy anyone attempting satire these days, but this reads too quaint and earnest amid the hellish fascist wasteland in which we find ourselves, notwithstanding Bong’s deft sentimental touch. 

  Pattinsons are a blast to watch, and their dual-pronged chemistry with Ackie and her tooth gap really shines.…

  Under duress and in great peril, these animals picked up boat mechanics much quicker than I did when my mom forced me to go to youth sailing camp in Massachusetts where I watched a kid named Fritz eat a cup of mayonnaise as a dare (he lost).

  They literally built a promotional green warp pipeline at the entrance of the theater for the Mario Bros. movie, so it was funny imagining that little Italian plumber getting blown to smithereens by a group of radical environmentalists.

  It’s telling that this has been hailed as “one of the best romantic dramas in years” when it so nakedly reflects the pervasive individualism, selfishness and narcissism that’s corrupted society today. How have we lived through 2+ years of a pandemic, lamenting significant loss of life, community and fearless ability to interact with one another, and emerged ready to praise this movie about people who are high-key pieces of shit who only care about themselves?
