It is the story of a young girl growing in a family with a depressive but loving father and an over-caring mother. Her endeavours to construct her identity by refusing any given values (including her name) takes her to a fine line that she revaluates her relations with her family and society. This movie reminds me one of the greatest novels of Charles Dickens, Great Expectations: "It is a most miserable thing to feel ashamed of home".

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 1991
A fantastic tale. Brilliant acting of Costner and Rickman. Rich political implications on justice, equality, pluralism. Powerful narrative of brotherhood, sacrifice, and of course love.
