how far can you push a person? testing the limits of a persons mental to the extreme in all areas that make someone human. i liked this film, it definitely wasn’t the same vibe as the first joker and some of the songs felt a little forced in moments but i liked the contrast it had. in such dark and tense moments music can still be present, whether you’re sane or not. felt like the songs were an inner dialogue…
true grit in all aspects of this film. the visual language created was its own unique thing but nothing felt too polished either. the tension and build up in each scene and acting from the boys felt like something was ready to pop at any moment and kept me on the edge of my seat. until something did pop at the end and made me question everything i thought i knew of the characters i had learnt about along the way. great flick, no wonder it’s been referenced so much even in western culture, i'm sure it’ll live on for a long time
this made me wince so many times, i really felt it especially since i’m the video guy too so i know what it’s like to be him and be looked at like that but this mf took it too a new level. his psychotic determination to be the best video businessman scared me a bit and made me question myself like ‘do i talk like that?’ which i feel like makes a good film. pacing was good, full caught off guard by how he left his partner in the end but main plus was jake gyllenhaal’s acting and his stare time without blinking.
