I’m happy Kubrick won’t see an homage to his visuals wrapped in such (lack of) substance…
Otherwise interesting topic, but the execution not too my taste. Lacking an immersive experience.
I’ve been removed more times of the film by the film itself than they switched bodies during it.
Michael Shannon is the sanest of them all.
Good acting all around but kinda distracts you from the emptiness within the film
The film plays in capturing what I believe is the essence of a Nordic Saga. It keeps you wondering until it’s finished because as an audience we’re with our mindsets locked in many references of action or studio films that just change the skin but keep the same skeleton.
But by the end, the director locks the film with a key and you truly perceive the scope of it’s mythological nature.
There’s no contemporary values or morals just an idea…
Right upon finishing the film I was processing it for a while. Trying to make sense on everything I had just saw based on what I knew on narrative and things that I had absorved from other films. In short, “never trust” someone who says that understands Persona , because Persona is whatever you want it to be and that’s why it is beautiful.
