An utterly gorgeous sci-fi thriller. "We have one more person than we should" immediately sets you on edge, and the tension perfectly blends together with a vivid, imaginative take on space. It's wild that this film takes real effort to track down these days, at least in North America.
An adaptation in the loosest sense of the term. Aside from a few jokes that land (“He’s not wearing any armor!” “Well, that’s not my fault.”), it’s a lethargic stroll through one of the most inert depictions of King Arthur we’ve ever seen.
Decades of horror films hadn’t prepared us for a story this raw, this personal, this accurate. It transcends the need for blood, death, even traditional scares: the TV monsters on-screen give way to a terror that is all too real.
We’ve always found something charming about Justice Smith, but here? He’s fucking phenomenal. It’s not as simple as vulnerability: it’s the way his body curls inward while denying the things he wants, his careful choice of words around his family.…
