Love Lies Bleeding 2024
By the time this film ended, I was wondering how much of what I'd just seen was meant to be taken seriously, despite ALL OF IT seeming to be dead serious. I don't mean that as a criticism...far from it...I really enjoyed this film a lot more than I was expecting to, just based on the trailer. The performances were great all around, the cinematography was exquisite, and the way the second half of the film just goes like a runaway freight train was really intense.

This is a psychologically dark film...and has a lot more tension than one might expect, given the synopsis. Morfydd Clark's portrayal of Katie/Maud is spot-on, allowing the viewer to see her as both a sympathetic and potentially terrifying figure.
