30th anniversary rewatch. This really is more arthouse movie, than your general action/crime/thriller, and an all-out Los Angeles movie, by one of the great auteurs. This really vies for the top spot of my all-time favourites. Blessed to finally see it on the big screen.

Man, I fucking hate that bear.
Garland is an intriguing filmmaker and this is solid horror sci-fi, but a bit too close to horror for my taste.
Great cast, cerebral story, some excellent cinematography but the cgi is very shanky.
The ending is out there and pretty nuts.
I feel more could have been made out of the message here.
