watched in Spanish. really loved this one! felt the anxiety of a mother trying to take care of family from generations on either side of her (mother and infant daughter) while the world continues to demand even more of her. the original Spanish name of the film “cinco lobitos” appears to represent the family members, who are constantly at each other’s throats, but it is also a song which is sung on a couple occasions throughout the film to soothe the baby. this contrast encapsulates the chaos of Amaia’s life, the choppy waters within which she is fighting to stay afloat.
