One of the most emotionally affecting films I have seen since Kurosawa’s “Ikiru”. Along with Jarmusch’s “Paterson” they all can discuss existentially, in the same bath house, on what Ikiru (meaning “to live”) truly means. There is a simplicity and beauty to living that is easy to forget when we are constantly inundated with the idea of more and more. All we really need is our own tree-friend.

As a Dominican, this is a difficult watch. It's fantastic that the culture is being shown and represented. But the representation is once again whitewashed. We've come a long way since Westside Story with Puerto Rican's being portrayed by white actors in brown face but…

A movie where more doesn't necessarily mean better.

Nolan introduced an interesting concept of "inversion" but the execution of it left much to be desired. Much of the movie spends its time with characters sharing exposition with the audience in a needlessly convoluted manner. So much so that it almost completely forgoes any meaningful character development. The writing might also be the weakest of any of Nolan's films with some laughable lines of dialogue: Pattinson: "the whole world will cease…
