I can say with confidence this film is on par with classic body horrors like the Fly and the Thing. I was genuinely mortified and enthralled by the disfiguration and transformation I witnessed. Not only was the SFX sound, the casting was also; Moore portrayed a desperate and deranged character who you couldn’t help but sympathise with as an audience. Qualley on the other hand was effortlessly beautiful and mesmerising yet you felt immense disdain towards her character’s choices. I’d…
Exceptionally bad.
Nash created a monstrosity when he chose to write and direct this flop; the premise had potential, but the acting and directing snuffed that. The weirdly selected camera angles and absence of score made scenes incredibly awkward and jarring. It was given a rating at all purely for the original kills. I’d recommend watching paint dry.
This was a spectacular addition to the franchise, one fans of pre-phase 1 Marvel will thoroughly enjoy. The chemistry between Reynolds and Jackman was palpable. The narrative was shown superbly through classic Deadpool stylism; intense graphics, vigorous choreography and an outstanding soundtrack. The cameos were cleverly included and well executed. My only qualm that prevented a perfect score was I found the villian unlikeable compared to other cinematic villains. Would definitely recommend.
