    Despite Bong’s insistence that he got the rights to final cut for this movie, it really does feel like this was the result of some serious studio meddling. I liked the first act and then everything that follows commits to none of the narrative threads it pulls at. Did very little for me besides look nice.

    This movie is one of the cornerstones of my childhood, and watching it drunk as shit on New Year’s Eve reminds me of how magical movies can be. I’m sure that’s probably sentimental in all the wrong ways but I really love this movie. 

    As an adult I realize now how well-edited and paced this movie is, and while Crusade is my favorite Indy movie, this movie will always have a special place in my heart.
