What more needs to be written about Goodfellas? It’s one of, if not the best film Scorsese made. It’s a film that in a nutshell either has cocaine being used, people laughing a little too hard, guys getting whacked and lots of really amazing Italian food being eaten.

Central Station 1998
It's about the journey, not the destination. Back in 1998, if it had not been the year of Roberto Benigni and the adoration of Life is Beautiful, Central Station would have won Best International Feature Film. Also interesting is that 1998 is the closest we've probably ever come to having both lead roles won by actors playing roles in another language aside from English.
