This one was released as a Valentine's Day slasher, and I guess it's ok for that. Personally, it felt like a bad Lifetime rom-com for late 20s couples with a couple of interesting kills in the beginning followed by super generic slashing. Plot holes, telegraphed twists, etc. Cool killer mask. Not enough for me to ever re-watch it. This one was pretty much saved by the antics of Detective duo Jordana Brewster and Devon Sawa.

Wow, Monkey really hit the spot. One of the best horror-comedies I've seen in a long time! I was skeptical going in because of Perkins' overhyped and disappointing Longlegs, but this one delivered! A gleefully violent horror movies with a SLEW of great kills AND laugh out loud comedy! The vibes shift frequently from gore filled slashings to Rube Goldberg style Final Destination deaths. Definitely going to be several re-watches in store for this one.

At the same time the internal monologue makes it like an Archer coma dream, making it the most violent, gore filled and hilarious movie I've seen so far this year!

Also includes a scene that will make you say "F**k Evil Dead, *that's* what I'm f**king talking about!!"

How to describe The Substance? Well, for one - it's amazing. From the cinematography to the performances to the clever script - it's near hypnotic. It's probably going to bomb horribly - but if ever there was a time to label something an "instant cult classic" (as problematic as that phrase might be), this is the time. I could see this thing playing for years on the midnight circuit.

And at parties, just to hear guests shout "OHHH -WHAT THE…
