Great story about suffering selves and souls
Stop motion taps into sth unique about life -- imaginations, the mundane everyday, sadness and faint hopes -- a temporality that smoothness is frictional and glitched
Thank you for breaking my heart I guess?
A swift and neat psychological thriller. It plays not only with the narrator’s brain, but also the audience’s. The tone is set right at the beginning of the movie: this is insomnia, it’s a waking dream, he is neither asleep nor awake. My take on the ending: Durden and the narrator become one, the spilt souls of Jekyll and Hyde reunite — thus the happy ending and return of the rational.
NB: one star less because the body horror & violent scenes are so powerful I was nauseated 🙃
