The start of the film had me intrigued the slow burn and then just the burn (scary lady smashed head). The tonal shift to Justin long’s character almost comical was not expected and felt like pulling the emergency brakes on a roller coaster. However the next shift felt more fluid Regan era, man with a bad plan regained my interest for a bit. The ending was good but I felt like we could have had more mama monster time if the first 30 mins were cut down to 20 mins. Idk
This mutant mama won’t make it to the X men
3 1/2 nasty pacifiers
What could or can be said about FLCL. Lighting in a bottle, imitated, but never duplicated. The sequels can’t even come close (except for the soundtrack). FLCL has a special place in my heart and will always have that spot. I saw it at just the right time and it just clicked. It is probably my favorite OVA. It is just so perfectly paired with story, weirdness, charm, animation and of course, music. I love FLCL I watch it yearly and will probably forever. If you looking for a wild ride and an amazing soundtrack bam u found it. FURI KURI
Where to start, ignoring everything going on behind the scenes I found this move entertaining. I feel like superhero movies are judged almost at a higher standard than other categories of films, maybe because there have been so many in such a short period. Not to mention all of this marvel vs dc tribalism, which doesn’t let people enjoy a movie. It ever movie is trying to be the next god father and not every “super hero” movie is trying be the next Dark knight, some movies just want to entertain.
Also Jason Momoa made Aquaman cool that has count for something.
In my opinion the best 26 episode anime ever made. The story, the score, the ending, the characters. The very first episode tells you everything you need to know, it has action, comedy, style and sadness. 5/5
See you space cowboy
Side note, Neon Genesis Evangelion is almost the perfect 26 episode series but the films are necessary to tell the complete story.
