I am appalled, shaken, and without question—thoroughly electrified. This is merely a snippet of an ongoing miscarriage of power and the dereliction of the inalienable rights imposed onto all human beings. pablo berger’s ROBOT DREAMS made me cry today.
i’ve said this time and time again (mainly to myself); it does not take the most extravagant bells and whistles to tell a great story. the feature was devoid of dialogue for its near two-hour run time, but the presence of music and vocal sounds were the key purveyors of this masterful piece of storytelling. and it was all at the hands of a damn dog and robot.
