  I am appalled, shaken, and without question—thoroughly electrified. This is merely a snippet of an ongoing miscarriage of power and the dereliction of the inalienable rights imposed onto all human beings. So, to all those who continually deny what’s happening in Palestine, let this be your eye opener.

  pablo berger’s ROBOT DREAMS made me cry today.

  i’ve said this time and time again (mainly to myself); it does not take the most extravagant bells and whistles to tell a great story. the feature was devoid of dialogue for its near two-hour run time, but the presence of music and vocal sounds were the key purveyors of this masterful piece of storytelling. and it was all at the hands of a damn dog and robot.

  at the ripe age of maybe 11 or 12, Martin Scorsese’s Casino marked one of my earliest forays into visual storytelling that I can still recall. It has aged like a fine wine and it surprises me how little I managed to take away from early viewings in my yesteryears.
