I moved to Japan almost one year ago. It was one of the stupidest, confusing, and ridiculous decisions I have made. Moving to a country whose societal customs and language makes you a complete enigma to most residents of the country makes absolutely no sense. It's one of the stupidest things someone can do, I think, but at the same time, it's something I always knew I wanted to do. So far, it's been an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing me…

I am absolutely astounded by the power of this film. When I go into a movie, what I look for the most is mood, atmosphere, and passion. All of those are ever-present here, on top of so much more. Fear of death overcome by love of life and oneself. This is such a huge movie. I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this, but it floored me by its immense beauty.

    Love & Pop

    ★½

I didn’t feel emotionally connected to any of the characters in this film, but I feel like the goal of it was exactly that. I also feel like the interesting stylized camerawork didn’t add much to the narrative. I did enjoy the classical score and felt like the camera work occasionally helped to convey the chaotic and dangerous world that the main characters were dipping their toes into. Love & Pop seemed to have a deeper plot and I think people…
