I appreciate the existence of this movie more every year I watch it. One of the true Christmas classics that will likely never age poorly.

La La Land 2016
I was expecting to give this film 3 stars at best but it completely redefined how I see musicals instead. It’s perfect, the pinnacle of the musical genre and by extension film as a whole. It manages to create scenes that are eventful, slow, uplifting, and heartbreaking right next to each other without feeling out of place or off putting. All the while having some of the best cinematography and editing that elevates all of it. masterfully made and one that I’ll remember for a very long time.

Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009
This is my first Wes Anderson film and it’s great but something specific that really elevates it for me is the way the characters are written and speak, they don’t feel like they’re written for a movie they feel like they have actual personalities that weren’t crafted specifically for a movie and everything they say feels natural. I could probably listen to the characters talk about any possible subject for the duration of this movie and still not feel bored I really can’t praise the writing enough.
