  nice adaptation from what i know. i actually have never read the book so i cannot rank it based on the original details, but it did give television drama vibes. found the actors were well suited to the roles, and i enjoyed following jo on her journey. is the book supposed to be focused on jo? or is it just this drama doing a good job at it?

  Vagina dentata mythos being a running gag across cultures is what got me. #goodforher

  skipped 80% of this film. perhaps they were trying to make a case for why teenage pregnancy can be bad and abortion should be allowed, but overshadowed by the amount of brutal violence and assault that one teenager has to face until she finally finds an adult who allows her a way out of her misery: surrogacy.

  they played i'm so sick at the karaoke bar though. before more senseless violence is inflicted.

  Blockbuster Bollywood film, watchable, may not actually be the best movie to talk about Partition. Also, the initial scene where he puts sindoor in her hair in front of a group of mobsters and calls her a Sikh's wife (and that they can't kill/rape her anymore) has always rubbed me the wrong way.
