  Cute, harmless and ultimately disposable but I would eat a punpkin whole just to watch a sequel where Hubie is the beloved wholesome mayor of Halloween Town and solves a new paranormal mystery with the aid of the community.

  I don't know! It just sounds charming.

  All the fire hydrants are green and so are the traffic signs. In this pastel perfect world, Red is rare and sacred. Danger, temptation, passion, it's the chief color of the titular Trickster Demon. Red only appears when he appears, possibly manifested by some latent instinct of children to act out and disrupt.   I watched it soon after Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and the two films pair remarkably well. Seance's magic isn't in the pseudo-psychic or the suspense, it's in observing the co-dependent, toxic dynamics of the marriage.
