Spider-Man 3 2007
The scenes with the iconic memes, those are so good because they are actually good scenes. The problem here is, that whilst there is pieces of a good movie here, the story and plot strands are so stop-start that you forget about said plot strands as your watching.

All in all, there is nothing going against this being the best superhero movie. A film that stands tall, joined by a couple of others to be fair (Spider-Verse, The Batman, TDK), that perfectly utilities the superhero genre to its greatest potential to tell a very human and heartfelt story.

I’m just going to say it, this is my favourite Batman movie. A Gothic-Noir epic; one of the best atmospheric and visual blockbuster spectacles of the last 15 years; a sincere, emotional story at its core about learning to be hero in that of growing and the importance of bringing hope. Yes please!!

Every bit body-horror but also a fantastic revitalisation of the exploitation genre, low-budget movies that sought to take the action/horror genres and push the boundaries of onscreen shock and thrills (very unruly and colourful all the same). A fair few had deeper things to say, a lot of them weren’t concerned with such. They didn’t have to be subtle.
