This is another example of why the Oscars are bill shit. This movie is formulaic. It’s silly. It’s unrealistic (deaf people can’t work a boat for the reasons laid bare in the movie). At least the changed the magical negro into the magical Latino— that’s kinda refreshing.

The Oscars are fake. This movie was NG it was much too long, it couldn’t decide what it wanted to be, and let’s be real, the Russians would have killed her, not as a plot device, but for real. They would have killed her and saved the jet fuel to Vegas. To be fair, though, I was very uncomfortable watching it. It reminds me of 2010 to 2015
