so sweet and witty and made me wanna hug all my loved ones immediately. a reminder to try not to borrow pain from the future. feel all your feelings and love yourself.

some scenes felt dragged out as i was watching but maybe that’s the point. we don’t stop and observe the peaceful parts enough in fear of being left behind. we just keep moving forward without processing our lives, and then only after time has passed we notice important things we overlooked.

i loved this so much. gave me much to think about, some great laughs and cries. all the actors are wonderful!

very slow in the beginning, but after it’s done going through a ton of fairly unnecessary exposition, it’s pretty good. i liked the straightforward, almost mundane approach to some of the events, because for the characters it’s nothing new being on the brink of extinction and having to fight for survival on the daily. overall it’s still one of my least favorite godzilla adaptations. this had the opportunity to be visually groundbreaking when it comes to action anime and dig deep into the psyche of the characters, but it didn’t. hoping that the next part redeems some of those aspects.

“if we are to tame darkness, we must first face that it exists“

hauntingly beautiful, blood chillingly eerie and tragic, cinematically stunning. i adore the use of sound and color, or lack thereof, to amplify the descent into darkness and destiny. lily-rose depp is remarkable throughout, and the entire cast and crew clearly dedicated themselves into making this film the best it can be. it truly feels like a poem in visual form

got about halfway until i couldn’t keep watching anymore, cause it’s just pretty boring. the dialogue especially was rough. giving it a star just because tom hardy is great, but that doesn’t help carry the whole movie forward unfortunately. part 1 and 2 were on a whole different level
