Absolutely wonderful, fun, and heart wrenching musical.
I can’t help but see the parallels of deconstructing from the church in this story. Elphaba is inherently born “bad” because of her green skin and rejected by even her father. Rejected for something that is completely out of her control.
She thinks she has finally found acceptance through the Wizard. That he will give her “evilness” meaning. That he can fix what is wrong with her.
