Presence 2024
Today was my 3rd mystery screening at my local cinema, burnt from the previous 2 attempts I was seconds away from not going.
Presence is a simple but masterfully made film, the plot is both fascinating and satisfying with lots of moments you look back and realised the ending was teased throughout!
Absolutely a film to go in blind and ignore the marketing. It was really a terrifying film, but one that you realised after the credits and haunts you.

This film was just filled to the brim of half conceptualised symbolism that fell flat. The acting was great but the writing was the biggest tragedy. I mean cults, mental health, domestic abuse, grief - all which could have been fully formed ideas individually
Also what is male directors obsession with graphic r*pe scenes? It literally added nothing to the plot (always the case🙄)
Finally the entire first scene felt like a swanky car advert there was that many diff cuts of that bloody driving
