  I unexpectedly loved this movie. The cast was a 5 star ensemble. Janelle Monet ate (though her accent could use some work), and Kate Hudson is hilarious. The dialogue was great, but it lost half a star because Miles annoyed me just a little too much sometimes. I thought I had this movie spoiled for me, but it still surprised me. super fun, would watch again, kinda like it more than the first one tbh.

  For a book so good, this movie sucked. The screenplay chose to remove or change random parts of the story, like how Jesse swam to shore, how Sam and Emma meet at the end of the book, etc. It rushed through the "Jesse" era of Emma's life and gave insufficient backstory and detail that made the whole thing feel disjointed and nonsensical. It was hard to feel attachment to either husband because they spent so little time focusing on what makes their relationships special. Big let down.

  Harrison Ford in his prime never gets old. Some great scenes and shots that I really liked: the wide shot as the carriage is pulled slowly across the screen with cars following behind it, the creepy shot of the police chief filling the frame as he turns his head toward Carter, Samuel walking through the train station with the camera following him at his level of sight.
