    FRED: The Movie

    ★½

The fact that this movie has one or two good lines in it offends me even more than if it was total garbage.

Beyond that, this movie contains a substandard psychological thriller plotline to entertain the whole family.

Maybe I'm just living in one of Fred Figglehorn's fantasy scenarios, and life is nothing more but a punchline to a god that feels only hate.

  • Steve Jobs

    Steve Jobs

    ★★★★

An unrelenting portrait of a misguided and immoral man. Aaron Sorkin excellently crafts dialogue to create a character that encapsulates so much of what made Jobs so effective (his non-idle threats and "reality distortion field") and so hated (primarily in the treatment of his own daughter.)

The film itself divides into a perfectly paced three-act structure, you barely notice that the film essentially repeats itself three times, with the only differences being the set pieces and advancements in each character's…

    The Beatles: Get Back

    ★★★★

An incredibly un-succinct documentary, and perhaps one of the best I've had the pleasure of watching. An unflinching and uncompromising look into the most important band in pop music's history.

The length of the series works to it's benefit, and detriment, what it ends up like is that the full version of Get Back feels like an uncut version of a much smaller doc (which is true, Get Back was planned for a 2h30m theatrical release at first) and while…

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood

    ★★★★

Ultimately, the greatest part of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is how it utterly and completely achieves it's goal of immersing you in it's setting. I feel like I'm cruising down the streets of LA alongside the cast.

This is all without talking about the style of Tarantino that forms the movie, and creates a unique voice throughout. This FEELS like a passion-filled project.
