A Christmas Story 1983
Discordant, dissatisfying, frequently repulsive reminder of how unpleasantries of childhood surge forth through the holidays - anxious, overstimulating, with saccharine breaths briefly taken in the shallow reprieve of nostalgia and tradition. Those too, in the end, are stamped on and warped like old set dressing. The virtues espoused are mere wisps, confrontation is constant, the noise is unrelenting.
I love this movie, incredible classic.
