An impressive directorial debut where every cinematic element beautifully enhances the character’s internal struggles.

    Sundance 2022 - Film #10

Such a powerful film - the church scene with Nathan, the Christmas party scene with Gus and the confront scene with Arthur are so important to build up more layers and dimension of this story. Love the ending as well (the zoom-in cinematography style even matches the opening slide show).

PS will we have a chance to watch another 7 episodes mini series version of this story?

Such an emotional roller-coaster that left me reeling. I loved the ending scene—just when you think it’s going to wrap up on a high with a sweet romantic note, reality hits hard, like a shock of cold water. The title, Anora, couldn’t be more fitting; it’s not about some fantastical love story, but rather the clarity and resilience that life brings to a 23-year-old navigating her struggles. In the end, it feels like she’s caught in a loop, or maybe an endless tunnel—a beautifully raw depiction of reality.
