Belongs in the category of fantastic but emotionally devastating movies that I'll never press play on again. Speechless. Robby Müller as DP in this feels like such a step outside of his work that I know and love (Paris, Texas & Jarmusch Films), but works for me here. Bjork is a force of nature, time to really dig into her discography, unfamiliar with her albums but I love her singing voice.

Taste of Cherry 1997
Despite all the philosophical questions, no one tells Badii what to do. Bagheri makes a plea for the simple joys in life, not in a way that is melodramatic, which would fit the typical formula in film. That misdirection reminds me to enjoy the beauty in every day moments.

Bram Stoker's Dracula 1992
A spectacle, in true narcissist fashion. Dracula never got the “there’s more fish in the sea” talk. Coppola’s focus on set pieces and costume works for me. Now consider myself a Gary Oldman fan.

Evil Dead II 1987
Starting off my horror movie spree with a bang. Not my bag necessarily, but giving it a fair shake.
Slapstick humor and extreme violence have to operate on a pendulum?! I dunno. For the most part, I see why there’s such a phenomenon surrounding this type of thing. Definitely ambitious.
