The Northman 2022
If you want to feel like you can effortlessly catch a spear midair before sending it back in the direction it came - then this is the film for you.
It’s raw, brutal and bloody. There’s revenge, there’s romance and there’s a fair number of heads being chopped off - what’s not to love?
The sound design, cinematography and performances were outstanding - you feel immersed from the opening frame all the way through to the epic ending scenes. Definitely one for the cinema.

That score though!
Beautiful cinematography, great acting; I liked how dark the story was and found it very engaging throughout, despite the 3 hour runtime (probably could have shaved half an hour off though). The balance of character building/action was spot on and paired with the gritty undertones, it definitely makes for one of the best comic book adaptations I’ve seen. Recommend watching in the cinema (honestly it’s even worth it just for the sound design when the batmobile appears)
