Borderlands 2024
Atrocious is a word I don’t use often but here it seems both adequate and justified. How can a film based solely upon action scenes fall so bloody flat? Zero character development, zero story building, zero emotion. Some of the cat videos on my phone have more depth than this hot pile of garbage.

Infested 2023
Honestly, I’m not much of an arachnophobia but Jesus Christ this was intense.
I think what elevates the movie is how well written the characters and their backgrounds are. This is not just about spiders infesting an entire building (although that part makes for lots of really tense moments and you might want to tightly wrap your entire body in the nearest available blanket) but there’s clearly a whole other subtext and a criticism of how alienated people from less privileged backgrounds are made to feel in their everyday life.
It’s such a little gem.LOVED IT.
