  The insatiable thirst of guilt strikes people into dangers of the true unknown.

  Every character is so enveloping that we root for them even as we resent them. We don’t even meet our protagonist, Red, until the movie is almost over- and yet somehow it made sense it’d be him all along.

  I am shocked this isn’t featured more prominently in Herzog’s filmography. It plays to so many of his strengths in characterization, focus, and narrative. Don’t skip it.
