Amazing how similar this film is to the current ones. Somehow It does not “look” like an 40s movie.. (Not that I’m an expert on period films, but I just found it timeless).
I’ll probably watch it again and come back here to give it a higher rating.

The Great Gatsby 2013
Gatsby represents the incessant desire present in everyone, which is the desire of wanting something so badly that you can end it up sabotaging yourself. That desire is probably “built” by past “traumas”, which in case is when the person highlights an object of achievement to compensate others that were never achieved.
The movie also criticizes the human relations and its “darkness”, but once that this is clearly showed on the film I don’t think it’s worth it talking about.Translated from by
