  this was a much more contained story than i originally thought it was going to be. it didn't feel "monumental", apart from the run time. there were beautiful shots, perfectly composed music and an interesting story about an artist who had to "start again". i thought the first half was near perfect, but thought some of the story in the second half felt too blunt. also, all movies over 3hrs should have an intermission!

  i used to think coppola as godfather/conversation vibes, then watched megalopolis thinking "how did that guy get to this". and now watching dracula it is starting to make sense.
