  Random Oscar marathon #1: 1956

  I kind of love that this is a best picture winner. Just a sentimental slice-of-life film that teaches men who are 34 but look 52 that they are worthy of love as well<3

  there’s aspects to enjoy but overall it is far too dull to be considered a classic piece of cinematic history. strictly for bette davis or humphrey bogart completists, you can feel every moment of the film fleeting away while you wait for the excitement to come. i’m sure the novel is wonderful, im actually interested in reading it, but the director seems to have no understanding of how to create tension or make the audience feel something for the characters.…
