Admittedly one of those movies that after reading about and watching videos I’m like ohhhhh that’s why it’s so important and revered but upon initial watch was just like oh okay cool this is an interesting and well-shot fable yay!

Warfare 2025
Sorry in advance this is a long one. Visceral and terrifying. From a technical perspective: amazing sound design and lack of score + pacing of 1 movie min to 1 real world min transports u into the horrors on screen. However, in its intent and impact it fails.
Had I not listened to Garland and Mendoza’s QnA, I could have left the theater feeling this was a dark, gory, and perhaps even a “good” or at least serviceable anti-War movie…

Extremely crude but subversive satirical Blaxploitation film with creative and interesting mixed animation & live action shots. Bakshi’s big fuck you to Disney’s Song of the South, Hollywood’s portrayal of black Americans, and America’s racial caste system. An uncomfortable but worthwhile watch.
