Another near perfect movie from Scorsese. Leo, DeNiro, Scorsese. If you’re not satisfied with that then you may need to recalibrate your brain. DeNiro with the southern accent was a little distracting at first.

Metropolis 1927
This film has to be contextualized with the time it was made in. With it in mind that this film was released in 1927, the visuals and special effects are striking. I found the female lead character to be obnoxious at times with her expressions which brought down the overall experience for me. I thought the acting was tremendous however. The cinematography was also very impressive. Overall, it’s a film that I will always remember. A great story that deals with themes well ahead of its time. A postmodern masterpiece.
