Overall, I enjoyed this movie! Even without watching the first two films in the franchise, it was pretty easy to catch up on what’s happening with the story — albeit with a few missing pieces. I think some of the one-liners and gags were genuinely hilarious. My only critiques stem from the trite message behind the movie and some of the dialogue being dry at parts. Bonus points for mentioning Euler’s identity (e^(π*i) = -1) and particle acceleration.

Despite this film being from 2009, I think the message resonates with me as somebody who has been conflicted over trying to leave certain aspects of my life up to fate in the modern day and age. Though it may be true that some things are out of our control, I think that there is still a lot more in our hands than we give ourselves credit for, and Tom makes this incredible revelation, even if it was after 500 days. Overall, a fantastic film and I greatly appreciated its portrayal of emotion, even if it did feel a bit outdated.
