    I'll say without hesitation that PROMETHEUS was a huge surprise for me. It simultaneously connects to the original classic ALIEN, while standing on its own two feet as a solid piece of science-fiction cinema that asks familiar questions about the creation of life and our own place in the universe. It may not reach the blood-freezing heights of ALIEN, or the balls-to-the-walls energy of James Cameron's ALIENS, but in comparison to the mostly forgettable subsequent sequels/spin-offs that followed, PROMETHEUS is the most competent and entertaining film in the series since ALIENS.
