    ✨ 𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓴𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝔀𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓮𝓻 - #𝟙𝟙 ✨

Bruno Stroszek is a man forever trapped. Released from prison back into an oppressed existence, only to flee to America to be oppressed even more. As occasionally funny as it is, it's the tragic angle that's far more enriching - whether it be physically, socially or mentally, Bruno is beaten down by the system and those around him, unable to escape. Enclosed imagery is all around: even when overlooking the NYC skyline, it's…

    Lincoln

    ★★★½

So many surprise faces pop up in this film - it's a stellar ensemble cast lead with confidence by Day-Lewis, who embodies the titular president with both warmth and weariness; every monologue he has here is expectedly captivating.

It can often drift into boredom, with a touch of back-patting that can't really be avoided, but it does an accurate job of depicting this crucial moment in American history. That said, there's only so much you can say when those affected by the vote take a clear backseat.

Double the Pattinson leads to double the fun in Bong's latest capitalist/classist/political takedown, with plenty of sci-fi silliness depicted through cloning concerns and talking tardigrade mammoths. It's a pretty big swing that mostly hits!

Much of the humour comes from the bleak acceptance Mickey takes in his repetitive existence as an expendable, coming to terms with his mortality once his gruff multiple comes into play. Anyone else think that Rob's voice as Mickey 17 sounded a lot like Joe Pera?

    Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

The brakes are off and Cruise control is on, as Mission: Impossible goes on another adventure where things happen and days are saved. Honestly can't say much more than that, not out of fear of spoilers, but because there's not much to say at all?

You know there's gonna be well directed action and fun set-pieces... what I can't forgive is the garbage writing. Everything is either an info dump or overfamiliar lines I've already heard a thousand times over. No one finishes each other's sentences like that, come on now.
