It is not quite up to par with the 2018 series, but if the score and the visuals in this movie don’t absolutely sauce your brisket then I can’t help you.

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas 2018
This one is really tricky to place but I feel that its too derivative to be deserving of a four. I think it did of lot of its elements better than Your Lie in April but fell short in animation, score, and symbolism. I appreciated the differences between the two but Your Lie in April is far superior as a “vivacious female character is dying and has a massive emotional impact on insecure/reserved male character that doesnt have many friends” plotline. IWTEYP did focus on fewer characters which I liked.

I appreciate the direction they went with the story. A lot of comic book movies are afraid to sacrifice action for the sake of having solid mystery and thriller aspects to their movie, very reminiscent of movies like Se7en. Man this movie was bad but it was so bad that it was good. I enjoyed watching this for the bad jokes, dialogue, plot, and acting. I will definetly watch this again for a good giggle.
