Not sure I’ve seen a film that pushes the medium this far. It’s truly a remarkable achievement that deserves all of the credit it’s receiving. However, I feel like some of the choices with the art and animation had no purpose other than to switch up sometimes which just took me out of it.

Man this was a frustrating watch. I was a big fan of Longlegs. I thought it was (mostly) well written, shot really well and had a fantastically creepy atmosphere filled with tension. The Monkey is almost the complete opposite.

All of the familial elements are so poorly written and dull with almost no effort in trying to make the audience connect with any of the characters. The kills on their own are fun, but when pretty much all of them are so over the top, it really dilutes the entire experience.

Blown away. The visuals are expectedly amazing, especially all of the scenes with luminescent lighting. So many incredible moments that left me with my mouth hanging open. But what I wasn’t expecting was the emotional attachment I had to the characters and story
