I'll start with the Oscar buzz: I'm surprised this won Best Picture, but holy moly Madison absolutely desired Best Actor. An absolute dynamite performance throughout, it was her screen presence that kept me engrossed in a way the plot didn't manage. Brava!

Hadn't seen this one since I was a teenager, so I was worried how it would hold up, but it was advertised to me after midnight on St. Patrick's Day morning, so....
It has not aged great, but it was not horribly objectionable (yay). Most of the shitty things are done or said by shitty people. The editing and pacing are pretty interesting, and there are some great flourishes.
