    “Chill Out!” -Samuel L. Jackson

“The Temperature rising and it ain’t nothing surprising” -Mobb Deep

The disenfranchisement of the black body by known entities simmers underneath my skin every waking day. Futile to express like the recollection a bygone dream.

    Pusher II - 8.1

A slice of life gangster film, that exposes the more mundane, familia aspects of the lifestyle.

Understated, European and documentarian like in air. Pusher II captures our protagonist, a recently released convict in moments that are at once intense, humorous and intolerable. Navigating baby mama drama, a hateful father and a proneness to racist friends.

Low on violence, but physically taxing,
it vaguely reminds me of the Safdie Brothers ability to put viewers in a heightened state of engagement.
