ripped my heart out and tore it into a million pieces.
a tragically beautiful portrayal of interpersonal relationships during rough times. i saw a lot of discourse on reddit about how seita handled poorly and was to blame for his sister’s death by leaving his aunt but i personally think thats a shallow take.
the aunt would continuously claim things that belonged to the children, such as the butter and plums, even going as far as selling their mother’s kimonos…
