  Sometimes I'll be lying in bed at night and my brain will go "hey, remember the saga of Erica, the little girl who got locked in a painting?" and then I won't sleep for a week. This film PETRIFIED me as a kid (and sort of still now) and looking back I think a core reason why is that it's filled with these women taking pure, absolute unbridled glee in child murder. I can't think of another film that shows…

  Caught this tonight, third time it's ever been screened, courtesy of FilmBath. Intro'd by Danny Boyle and John Hodge. Great evening, and this was fun! Incredibly lo-fi execution of a wicked concept with a killer cast and an undeniable charm. Easy to see how it could've been expanded into a great feature. Fuck Harvey Weinstein (for many, many more reasons than this never seeing the light of day, but still).
