A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984
I have mixed feelings about this film. While I found it extremely frightening and didn’t enjoy watching it, I appreciate that it exposed me to the villainous Fred Krueger. I now know better than to sleep deeply. I am 19 years old and Freddy primarily targets teens. I do not want to be murdered by Freddy in my sleep. Now that I know of his existence, I try to sleep lightly and be at the ready in case of an attack.

Blue Velvet 1986
Horrid film. Excessive foul language, violence and graphic depictions of drug use and sex. I engage in these activities myself, but I watch films as a respite from the depravity of real life. I do not want to be made uncomfortable by cinema, I want to feel happiness and inspiration. The title of the film refers to the song “Blue Velvet” which is an integral part of the film’s soundtrack, but a more appropriate title would have prepared me more for the film’s contents.

12 Angry Men 1957
Sidney Lumet is one of the worst directors in cinema history. 12 Angey Men is a prime example of his ignorance and incompetence. This film was shot in black and white, which I despise. Colour films are so much better and more entertaining. The technology was available in 1957 to make this already boring film in colour, but Lumet and the budget obsessed studio opted for awful black and white. I abhor Sidney Lumet and I abhor this film.

Max My Love 1986
This is a film about a woman who falls in love with an ape called Max. It wasn’t very good but it was nice to sit in boozery and watch it on me iPad to distract from otherwise intrusive and upsetting thoughts
