  The fact that the guy that inspired the movie had a bad reputation about how he built the circus and recruited the crew made me not enjoy the totality of the movie. Nevertheless, on the other side it surprised me how a film that used a fucked up part of western history (the creation of freak shows) made out of it an enjoyable musical with songs that actually are touching.
